The 1998 American adventure comedy directed by Ivan Reitman follows Robin Monroe (Anne Heche), a spirited fashion magazine editor from New York, who embarks on a vacation to the South Pacific island of Makatea with her fiancé Frank Martin (David Schwimmer). When her boss calls her back for an urgent assignment in Tahiti, Robin hires pilot Quinn Harris (Harrison Ford) to fly her there. During the flight, a storm forces them to crash-land on an uninhabited island. Stranded together, Robin and Quinn must overcome their differences to survive, facing challenges including an encounter with pirates. Meanwhile, believing Robin is dead, Frank grows close to Quinn's ex-girlfriend, Angelica (Jacqueline Obradors). Robin and Quinn discover a crashed World War II Japanese floatplane and use its parts to repair their own aircraft, eventually returning to Makatea. Upon their return, Robin realizes her feelings for Quinn surpass those for Frank, and they choose to be together. The film blends romance, comedy, and adventure, exploring themes of survival, love, and self-discovery.
