The 1993 American action thriller directed by Andrew Davis, with a screenplay by Jeb Stuart and David Twohy, is based on the 1960s television series of the same name created by Roy Huggins. The film follows Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford), a prominent Chicago vascular surgeon who is wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife, Helen (Sela Ward). After escaping from custody following a prison bus crash, Kimble embarks on a quest to find the real killer—a mysterious one-armed man named Fredrick Sykes (Andreas Katsulas). Simultaneously, he is pursued by a team of U.S. Marshals led by Deputy Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones), who gradually begins to question Kimble's guilt. As the chase intensifies, Kimble uncovers a conspiracy involving the pharmaceutical company Devlin MacGregor and its employee Dr. Charles Nichols (Jeroen Krabbé), who played a pivotal role in framing him. The film received critical acclaim and was a commercial success, grossing over $368 million worldwide against a $44 million budget. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and earned Tommy Lee Jones the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
