Is the practice of interaction between humans and animals aimed at developing specific behavioral responses and skills in the animal through systems of reward, punishment, and repetition. It originated in ancient times across various cultures, where it was used for hunting, guarding, transport, performance, and domestic assistance. The origins of training can be traced back to Egypt, Mesopotamia, China, and other regions where people domesticated and taught animals to perform tasks. Over time, specialized methods and schools emerged, including positive reinforcement, clicker training, and behavioral modification. Training is applied both professionally — by dog handlers, circus performers, animal psychologists, and police — and domestically, especially for pets like dogs. This practice requires an understanding of animal psychology, patience, and consistency, and its effectiveness depends on building trust between the human and the animal. There are international competitions in animal training, as well as certification and licensing programs for trainers. Today, training is recognized as an essential part of responsible pet and working animal ownership.
