Vice

A 2015 American science fiction action film directed by Brian A. Miller, starring Thomas Jane, Bruce Willis, and Ambyr Childers. The story revolves around a futuristic resort called "Vice," created by entrepreneur Julian Michaels (Bruce Willis). This resort offers visitors the opportunity to live out their most violent and deviant fantasies with androids known as "artificials." Each day, the androids' memories are wiped, and they are repaired to ensure the seamless operation of the resort. Kelly (Ambyr Childers), an android bartender, believes herself to be human. After meeting a visitor named Evan (Bryan Greenberg), who encourages her to pursue her dreams, she begins to question her reality. Soon after, Kelly and her friend Melissa (Charlotte Kirk) are brutally attacked by another guest. Concurrently, Detective Roy Tedeschi (Thomas Jane) arrests a rapist within the resort and expresses concern that "Vice" fosters criminal behavior by allowing guests to commit acts of violence without consequences. As Kelly starts to recall past events and realizes her artificial nature, she decides to escape from "Vice." Fearing exposure, Julian Michaels sends his mercenaries to capture her. Detective Tedeschi, recognizing Kelly as more than just an android, chooses to assist her. Together, they strive to expose the dark aspects of the resort and bring about its downfall. The film delves into themes of morality, consciousness, and the ramifications of technologies that blur the lines between reality and artificial life.
