Viy 2: Journey to China

The 2019 fantasy adventure film, a Russian-Chinese co-production, serves as a sequel to the 2014 movie "Viy." Set in the early 18th century, it follows English cartographer Jonathan Green (Jason Flemyng), who is commissioned by Peter the Great (Yuri Kolokolnikov) to map Russia's Far East. During his journey, he encounters Cheng Lan (Yao Xingtong), a Chinese princess disguised as a man, and together they travel to China. Meanwhile, in London, the real Peter the Great and martial arts master Et Al (Jackie Chan) are imprisoned in the Tower of London, overseen by the stern warden James Hook (Arnold Schwarzenegger). In China, Jonathan and Cheng Lan confront the tyranny of the Two-Faced Queen, who uses a mechanical dragon and magical illusions to oppress the people. The protagonists unite to free the real dragon, restore justice, and bring about order. The film combines elements of fantasy, adventure, and martial arts, featuring spectacular scenes and an international cast.
