A Russian indie-pop and neo-folk group founded in the mid-2000s in Moscow by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Maria Shkuro, who performs under the pseudonym Badda Boo. The project's name originated from a childhood babble that Maria often sang in her youth. The band became known for its unique sound, blending romantic lo-fi, psych-folk, and DIY aesthetics. In their performances, musicians used unconventional instruments, including children's toys, cassette players, and natural materials, adding a special atmosphere to their music. Despite the lack of official studio recordings for a long time, Badda Boo gained a cult status in the Moscow underground, with their songs spreading through live recordings and the internet. In 2014, the group ceased active activity, but in 2024, the album "Degree of Sincerity" was released, featuring recordings from 2011–2013, newly mixed and officially released for the first time. This release revived interest in Badda Boo's work, especially after viral remixes of the songs "Uletayu" and "Iskrennosti" on TikTok.
