Australian singer, songwriter, producer, and director, born December 18, 1975, in Adelaide, South Australia, to musician Phil Colson and art lecturer Loene Furler. She began her music career in the 1990s with the band Crisp, then moved to London, releasing her debut solo album "OnlySee" (1997). Subsequent albums include "Healing Is Difficult" (2001), "Colour the Small One" (2004), "Some People Have Real Problems" (2008), and "We Are Born" (2010), earning critical and audience acclaim. Gaining fame as a songwriter, she penned hits for artists like Rihanna ("Diamonds"), Beyoncé, Britney Spears, and Katy Perry. In 2014, she returned to her solo career with the album "1000 Forms of Fear," which topped the Billboard 200, and the single "Chandelier" became an international hit. Her subsequent albums include "This Is Acting" (2016), "Everyday Is Christmas" (2017), the soundtrack for the film "Music" (2021), and "Reasonable Woman" (2024). Sia is known for her unique style, combining powerful vocals with emotional lyrics, and for using wigs and avoiding publicity to maintain her privacy. She has received numerous awards, including 13 APRA Awards, 9 Grammy nominations, and an MTV Video Music Award. Her work spans pop, indie pop, and electronic music genres, and includes directing music videos and films.
