Freaky Friday​

A 2003 American fantasy comedy film directed by Mark Waters, with a screenplay by Heather Hach and Leslie Dixon, based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel of the same name. It is the third adaptation of this story and the fifth installment in the "Freaky Friday" series. The film follows Dr. Tess Coleman (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her 15-year-old daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan), who constantly clash due to their differing personalities and life views. Tess is a successful therapist preparing for her wedding to her new fiancé Ryan (Mark Harmon), while Anna is a teenager passionate about rock music, playing in a band, struggling in school, and facing conflicts with teachers. During a dinner at a Chinese restaurant, after another argument, the owner gives them mysterious fortune cookies that cause them to wake up the next morning having switched bodies. Facing the necessity to live each other's lives, Tess and Anna learn to understand and appreciate the challenges and difficulties each faces. Anna, in her mother's body, must conduct therapy sessions with patients and prepare for the wedding, while Tess, in her daughter's body, deals with school problems, relationships with friends, and performing at a rock concert. Through these trials, they come to a mutual understanding and strengthen their family bonds. The film received positive reviews from critics, grossing over $160 million on a $26 million budget, and Jamie Lee Curtis was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.​
