Surrogates

A 2009 American science fiction action film directed by Jonathan Mostow, based on the 2005–2006 comic book series "The Surrogates." Set in a future where humans interact with the world through robotic avatars called surrogates while remaining safely at home, the story follows FBI agent Tom Greer (Bruce Willis) as he investigates a rare murder linked to the destruction of a surrogate and its operator. During his investigation, Greer encounters the leader of an anti-surrogate movement known as The Prophet (Ving Rhames) and uncovers a conspiracy that threatens humanity. The film delves into themes of technological dependence, alienation, and the loss of humanity in a high-tech society. The cast also includes Radha Mitchell as Greer's partner, Rosamund Pike as his wife Maggie, Boris Kodjoe as a fellow FBI agent, and James Cromwell as the inventor of surrogates, Dr. Lionel Canter. "Surrogates" received mixed reviews from critics but was noted for its original concept and visual effects.​
