An American horror film released in 2007, directed by Frank Darabont and based on Stephen King's novella of the same name. The story is set in the small town of Bridgton, Maine, where, after a severe thunderstorm, a dense mist envelops the area, concealing deadly creatures. Artist David Drayton (Thomas Jane), along with his son Billy (Nathan Gamble) and neighbor Brent Norton (Andre Braugher), go to the local supermarket for supplies but become trapped inside with other townspeople as the mist engulfs the town. Inside the store, fear and panic escalate, especially under the influence of religious zealot Mrs. Carmody (Marcia Gay Harden), who believes that the end of days has come and suggests human sacrifices to appease divine wrath. David and a group of survivors attempt to find a way out of the store and escape the monsters lurking in the mist. The film is noted for its intense plot and unexpected ending.
