An American adventure action film from 1996, directed by Jean-Claude Van Damme, who also stars as the protagonist. Set in 1925, the story follows Christopher Dubois (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a street orphan in New York City who escapes from the police and accidentally boards a smuggler's ship. After being attacked by pirates, he is sold into slavery on an island in Thailand, where he trains in martial arts under local masters. Years later, he encounters British adventurer Lord Edgar Dobbs (Roger Moore) and his partner Harry Doby (Jack McGee), who help him escape but then exploit him in underground fights. Christopher learns about the secret martial arts tournament, "Ghan-Ghen," where the world's greatest fighters compete for the Golden Dragon, a symbol of the ultimate warrior. Alongside journalist Carrie Newton (Janet Gunn) and his companions, he travels to Tibet, where the tournament takes place. He faces numerous skilled fighters, including a formidable Mongolian warrior (Abdel Qissi), believed to be unbeatable. In the final match, Christopher defeats him but, instead of claiming the prize, hands it over to the monks, following the code of honor. Returning to New York, he becomes a mentor to street orphans, giving them hope for a better future. The film blends action, adventure, and martial arts, offering thrilling fight scenes and an immersive setting in exotic locations.
