Russian pop duo formed in 1994 in Saint Petersburg by composer and singer Denis Klyaver and poet and singer Stanislav Kostyushkin. Their acquaintance occurred at the musical theater "Zazerkalye," where Kostyushkin worked as an actor, and Klyaver was a student at a music college. The idea to create the duo came from Denis's father, the well-known actor Ilya Oleynikov, who, after hearing the young musicians perform together, suggested they unite. The duo's first performance took place on December 20, 1994, at the Leningrad Youth Palace. In 1995, they participated in the Viktor Reznikov composers' competition, securing third place, and won at the "Yalta-Moscow Transit" and "Big Apple of New York" contests. In the 2000s, the duo reached the peak of popularity, releasing hits like "Laskovaya moya," "Zhelannaya," "Den rozhdeniya," and "Beloe platye," for which they repeatedly received the "Golden Gramophone" award. In 2013, the group ceased joint activities but announced a reunion in December 2022. In May 2023, they released a new single, "Nezhnaya," which received the RU.TV award in the "Reunion of the Year" category. The duo's musical style combines elements of pop music and pop rock, characterized by melodiousness and lyrical texts. The group continues to perform actively and record new songs, remaining a significant phenomenon in Russian musical culture.
