Zemfira

Russian rock singer, composer, poet, and songwriter, born on August 26, 1976, in Ufa, Bashkir ASSR, USSR. In 1998, she moved to Moscow, where she began working with her band "Zemfira" on her first studio album, released in 1999. Since then, she has released seven studio albums, including "Forgive Me My Love" (2000), "14 Weeks of Silence" (2002), "Vendetta" (2005), "Thank You" (2007), "Living in Your Head" (2013), and "Borderline" (2021). Her music combines elements of Russian rock, pop rock, indie rock, and alternative rock, with lyrics reflecting the emotional struggles and quests of modern youth. Zemfira is also known for her collaboration with director Renata Litvinova, composing music for films such as "The Last Tale of Rita" and "The North Wind". Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards, including the State Republican Youth Award named after Shaykhzada Babich in 1999. Her debut album was included in the magazine "Afisha"'s list of "50 Best Russian Albums of All Time", ranking fifth. Zemfira has had a significant influence on the work of young bands in the 2000s and on the younger generation as a whole.
